The List

So here are some things Cody and Stephannie and I discussed that they would be grateful to receive (wedding gifts or shower gifts) please post questions in the comments tab below or on facebook, email or phone even just to say “hello.” I would appreciate if you would distribute this information, as well as items that should be added or negated from this site as we get closer to the big dates. This list is edited by Pam Stewart and approved by the bride and groom to be and Mother of the bride. Sincere apologies for grammar and spelling.

thank-you and I hope to see everyone at the wedding shower and wedding.

Some of these suggestions are 'needs', some of them are 'wishes'

And some are repeated in the gift registry at sears so please double check :)

· Cake cutting knife and lifter for the big day, guest book & pen (these ones are better for shower gifts because of their need before the wedding)

· Corel dishes. We don't really use formal stuff very much, just need a really good durable everyday dish set stonewear handmade things good too! This is particular as sears did not have corel dishes and I believe Canadian Tire Does.

· Good quality knives of all kinds that have a solid blade to hilt (Cody specifically wants a chef's knife, carving knife, cleaver and kitchen shears and probably a good paring knife.

· Roasting pan (the one they got at grad is rusted)

· Wok (one they have has been dropped too many times and doesn't even look like a wok anymore lol)

· Cake plate and platter for displaying cake and cupcakes at wedding (Pam Steph Michelle and Jessica are making the cake and a unique display would be wonderful gift for he DIY Bride and Groom. pam will post picture soon)

· Coasters

· Baking sheets

· Rolling pin (believe it or not they still don't have one dispite the amount of cooking they do)

· Ice cream scoop

· Spice rack

· Sushi set & chopsticks

· Toaster oven

· Standing mixer

· Place mats napkins, and table cloth accessories for hosting. just something fun something "Different" would be nice lol, the bridal colors are pink and green but, orange is good too. Please see the registry for suggested colors for each room.

· Cody LOVEs to Barbie Q you can take it from there. They have most of what they need but a good grill brush and other accessories like baster might be handy.

· High thread count queen size sheets

· Comforter

· Duvet & Cover

· Towels of all kinds face and dish cloths.

· Bath mat

· Toothbrush holder for wall (other bathroom counter accessories, keeping in mind their current bathroom situation is super tiny. So be really clever k? )

Still Stuck?

Some thoughts for selecting a gift I came across while doing my research. Most of this you probably already know, however for someone like me who has never had to think about personal and creative wedding gifts, the research proved beneficial. So share with you i will...

Often the best gifts are handmade items that the bride and groom can use and cherish, but most importantly ones that they would never see coming. If there is anything you would like to know about the bride and groom’s personal interests please contact me and have fun hunting!

Below is a collection of hints from various websites.

1. Money – Yes it's true; while it may seem impersonal or uncreative, money is my number one recommended wedding gift. Most young couples are saving for something big – a house, a car, a piece of furniture, or are still paying back their student loans. Money may also help them have an extra-special honeymoon or let them order that extra photo for their album. While it's rude for a couple to ask for money, it is never rude to give cash. If you still want to give a personal wedding gift, combine the two: attach a check to a beautiful picture frame, a kitchen gadget, or a long letter detailing your wishes and advice for their marriage.

2. An expensive item off of their registry – Often the more-expensive items on a couple's registry are dream wedding gifts that they don't think they're actually going to get. Whether you're wealthy enough to buy such a wedding gift on your own, or you organize other guests to all chip in a pool, you'll be making dreams come true.

4. A wedding gift to stand the test of time – Whether it's a bottle of scotch or fine wine with instructions to open on their tenth anniversary, a gorgeous vase, or piece of art, give a gift on which the couple will be able to look fondly and say "Our friend John gave us that for our wedding." Other ideas include the couple's wedding invitation in a beautiful frame, (AHEM as the invitation is hand silk screened by Alex Moon, Pam’s significant other this is an awesome idea!) a handmade quilt or tablecloth, or an antique piece of furniture.

5. Make their honeymoon extra sweet - If you've ever been to the place where the couple is honeymooning, use that knowledge to get them a gift certificate for your favorite restaurant or resort activity. You could also upgrade their plane tickets to first class or give them some spending money tucked inside a guidebook of the area. (Stephannie and Cody are Certified Divers and buddies for life so travel is apart of who they are as couple and would be really be helpful to them).
